Kenji Jojima is the first Japanese baseball player to have joined the American major league. We have hopes for his success in Seattle Mariners.
Jojima has always kept his hometown close to his heart even after leaving Sasebo as a professional baseball player. He returns to Sasebo to train, has opened a boys' baseball school and has given donations to the city. His presence gives hope and pride to Sasebonians.
At this Memorial Hall, you will find Jojima's certificates of merit and trophies that trace the history from his childhood days to becoming a professional player, as well as many original souvenirs. The exhibits convey how Jojima wants children who have the same dream as him visit the Hall.
The entire façade of the building in a daring design is covered by the picture of Jojima standing on the home base. |
